The Profile of the Good Carrier in Spain: Policy, Sustainability and Efficiency

by Marisela Presa 15 de August de 2025

It is not an imaginary being, is a real man who emerges from the first moment for its sense of belonging and responsibility. Knows how to keep the shape, know of his profession, has a style of working and takes the responsibility that that makes it represents the well-being of him and his family.

That’s why we have sought to reach an ambitious profile of who can be a good carrier.

Okay, here in Spain there are people with a lot of responsibility in their working and social life. Since at significant altitudes are focusing on the future, and many, with a family tradition that they forge as impeccable are going to prove throughout its existence. Because, in addition to what the profession requires, also Spain has one regulating road rigorous, which requires carriers to a high professional level.

A good driver must not only master the rules of traffic, but also to be up to date with the existing legislation: as the speed limits, restrictions of movement in urban areas and the requirements of mandatory rest. The continuous training and the adaptation time are essential in order to avoid penalties and ensure safety on the roads, especially when driving heavy goods vehicles.

In addition to legal compliance, a carrier exemplary in Spain you should prioritize the sustainability or environmental regulations, such as the Area of Low Emissions (ZBE), which require less-polluting vehicles and the use of clean technologies. Also you should invest in Euro 6 trucks or explore alternatives such as Liquefied Natural Gas LNG or electrification, which not only reduces the ecological footprint, but that optimizes long-term costs, considering the high taxes associated with emissions and fuel.

The tax burden in the transport sector is significant as we have said in other post, so that a good professional must efficiently manage their resources. This implies control of how rigorous your expenses, take advantage of tax deductions and pass through optimal routes to save fuel.

The scanning, by logistics platforms smart, or use our cargo bag Powerload.it can be a great ally to reduce downtime and improve profitability, especially in contracts of long duration.

The diversity of the vehicles of high porte in Spain obliges the carrier to the meet the technical specifications of each model. From trailers to articulated vehicles, the choice of the truck that is suitable for each type of loading is essential. A driver well-prepared know how to distribute the weight, to insure the goods and to perform preventative maintenance to prevent breakdowns expensive that affect the continuity of the service.

According to contractors, the carrier is ideal for a long-term agreement is one that combines punctuality with flexibility. ‘We value those who meet deadlines but also adapt to unforeseen events without compromising on quality,’ says Juan Martinez, manager of a logistics company in Valencia. Transparent communication and the ability to solve problems on the fly are qualities that are highly valued, along with a history of reliability.

While Ricardo Román, a conductor of the vast experience of the surroundings of Madrid makes sure that from that found in the network Powerload.it has had a more stable job, without headaches, and that it feels more secure with the loads it carries. The is considered a carrier ideal, told us in a message.

The work ethic, it also plays a crucial role. Contractors stand out, that they prefer to work with carriers that demonstrate liability, whether in dealing with the staff, the care of the cargo or the respect to trade agreements. ‘A good professional will not only delivery the goods on time, but does so with a collaborative attitude,’ says Laura Gómez, contractor, international transport in Barcelona.

In conclusion, to be a good carrier in Spain goes beyond lead: requires adaptation to strict regulations, environmental commitment, financial management, shrewd and interpersonal skills. In a competitive market, those who invest in training, technology and strong relationships with contractors will be the ones that survive and thrive in the demanding world of the goods transportation.

Transportation of goods by road in Spain began to develop significantly in the decades of 1950 and 1960, coinciding with the industrial growth and the improvement of the road network . However, it was in the 80’s and 90’s, with the incorporation of Spain to the EU and the liberalization of the sector, when the transport truck experienced its greatest expansion, consolidating its position as the dominant mode in the national logistics (representing over 90% of the earth’s movement of goods) point sources on the Internet.

Currently, Spain has around 800.000 carriers (between freelancers and companies), according to data from 2023 the National Confederation of Transport on the Road (CNTC). however, the sector faces a deficit of professionals, especially in drivers of long-distance, due to the harsh working conditions, high fiscal pressure and the aging of the labor force. Although the number of carriers is high, many contractors and associations point out that they are not sufficient to meet demand, especially in times of peaks logistics as a Christmas or agricultural campaigns.

If you need a good carrier refer to our cargo bag Powerload.it is and will have the good advantage of doing a good business and have support seriously and insurance for your goods.
