The European Forum for Science, Technology and Innovation will bring together the main agents of the continent’s R&D&I ecosystem at FYCMA.

Malaga will host from the 24th to the 26th of February the fifteenth edition of Transfiere, the European Forum for Science, Technology and Innovation, consolidated as the main R&D&I meeting point in southern Europe.
The Palace of Fairs and Congresses of Malaga (FYCMA) is preparing to welcome hundreds of professionals who seek in this event a strategic platform to boost connections, generate business and share knowledge. At a crucial moment for the transformation of the productive fabric, Transfiere 2026 returns with more impact than ever, expanding its international projection and updating its thematic axes to respond to the great challenges of the scientific-technological ecosystem.

The forum has established itself as the reference space in Europe to promote the circulation of knowledge and its direct application in the business fabric.
The research potential of universities, the most innovative business initiative and the institutional commitment of public administrations will converge in its facilities. The organizers have designed a program that facilitates access to disruptive technological trends, financing opportunities, innovative solutions and high-level contact networks, generating a privileged environment for those who lead innovation in Spain and Europe.

The program of thematic panels and conferences will bring together prestigious specialists and research institutions from the main Spanish universities, as well as from knowledge centers in the European Union, Canada, the United States and South Korea.
Attendees will be able to access updated information on internationalization, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, Industry 5.0, financing and investment, research and open innovation, and public procurement of innovation, among other strategic areas that will be addressed in the multiple event spaces.

Transfiere is distinguished by its ability to connect science and business, generating real business opportunities from research. The event format includes bilateral meetings, specialized presentations, conferences and round tables designed to exploit the commercial potential of innovation.
Universities, technology centers, start-ups and consolidated companies, public administrations and dynamic agents of the ecosystem will share three days of intense activity with a common objective: to transform knowledge into wealth and social welfare.

Malaga thus reaffirms its position as a strategic enclave for innovation in southern Europe, supported by a growing technological ecosystem that has the Andalusia Technology Park as its main exponent. The celebration of Transfiere 2026 at FYCMA represents an exceptional opportunity for Spanish businessmen seeking to anticipate the future, establish strategic alliances and position their organizations at the forefront of the continent’s digital and scientific transformation.

LET’S GET TO KNOW MALAGA

Malaga is located on the Mediterranean coast, in the autonomous community of Andalusia (southern Spain). It is the main gateway to the Costa del Sol and its economy is the second most important in Andalusia, making it the fifth city in the national ranking in economic activity. Although traditionally a service city with a strong emphasis on tourism and the textile trade, in recent decades it has undergone a profound transformation towards a diversified, high-value-added production model.

A Strategic Industrial and Logistics Enclave
The environment where the fair will take place is a nerve center for industrial and logistics activity in southern Europe. To the west of the city, on the left bank of the Guadalhorce River, the main industrial estates are concentrated, notably the Guadalhorce Industrial Estate, the largest in Andalusia with 2.5 million square meters. This area also houses the Los Prados Workshop, which has been fundamental in the construction and maintenance of AVE trains and which Renfe has turned into a management center for all of Andalusia, demonstrating the city’s railway specialization.

Potential in New Technologies and Innovation
One of the main drivers of development and attractiveness of Malaga is its commitment to innovation, materialized in the Andalusia Technology Park (PTA). Inaugurated in 1992, it houses more than 600 technology companies, including multinationals such as Oracle, Google (through VirusTotal), Huawei or Ericsson, and generates more than 17,500 jobs. This ecosystem, known as “Malaga Valley”, turns the city into a technological hub in southern Europe, attracting talent and investment, and creating perfect synergies with the logistics and intelligent transport sectors.

Infrastructure for Trade and Business Tourism
Malaga has the necessary infrastructure to host major international events. The Palace of Fairs and Congresses of Malaga (FYCMA) is the venue that will host the logistics fair and is an example of the city’s commitment to congress and business tourism. Added to this is a complete communications network: Malaga-Costa del Sol Airport, the port (which is one of the main cruise terminals in the Mediterranean) and the AVE high-speed train station that connects the city with Madrid in just two and a half hours, consolidating its role as a multimodal logistics node.

Academic Support and Business Fabric
The event has the support of the local university, which guarantees a focus based on knowledge and innovation. This academic support is complemented by a solid local business fabric that includes the headquarters of banking entities such as Unicaja and large shopping centers, as well as leading companies in distribution and children’s fashion that export internationally. This combination of university, industry and technology creates the ideal environment to discuss the future of the logistics sector.
